I actually dont remember much of what happened in march, long time you see... and I am having memory problems lately! :P... This month was a major drag, especially after the awesome fun we had in during incident.
We had our results of mid sems coming out and they surely did not help us to lighten the mood either. After a pathetic performance when I was thinking nothing could go worse that this, another major problem stared all the hostelites in their face. The water shortage had started. The bathrooms were back to the worst condition you could find anywhere. After a week of no water we got so pissed off with the authorities that we decided to have a non-violent protest, more of a discussion kind of approach. Well, the same day we had water in our blocks, but guess what... the next day again the taps were as dry as in the sahara desert.
It was time to choose our hostel blocks for the next year, and I swear I have never seen as much politics in my life as that was going on among groups over here. Each party trying to put their people ahead, get good room for themselves. All the possible tactics used in actual politics were being used, alliances were being formed, promises were being made and what not... Towards the end of the month we had our class representatives (CR) elections, and this was the time the worst games were played. Influencing people, back stabbing, false promises, alliances, all the screwed plots you could ever think of surfaced. I never thought all that went into making of a college... Must surely be one of the worst day in the college. But what can you say, everything has its one shares of good and bad (and that includes me as well!)...

'The month of' February
The month of the big 'L' word - LOVE, but for me it was a totally different 'L' word this month; laziness had got a very firm grip on me. Nothing was more pleasing than the company of my sweetheart, my bed. Everything seems perfect when you just lie down and go floating away into the awesome hazy world... just love it!

I didnt have a very good start to the month, didnt expect it either 'cause I was having my mid sems right in the beginning. All my preparations went in vain; none of the tests showed mercy, well except comp sci (I love that subject)! The results arent out yet, but I have this very eerie feeling that they arent going to make me smile.
We had the all expected technical fest - ENIGINEER. Sadly it wasnt as great as it was claimed it would be(supposedly the second best technical fest in India). Well but there were a few events like the laser show, velocity, automata, robot show, perfect machine, hook line sinker which did justice to the 2nd place. Another fest, a cultural one, is coming up this week; I hope this one atleast lives up to all the hype that is being created.
Just when the hostel was looking like a good place to live in, the problems start kicking in. This time it is water problem. Hours of no water and just 18 bathrooms for around 320 students is a perfect recepie for nightmare. This was the perfect time for me to be creative and thus was written 'The 101 Ways to Escape from Bath' (selling like hot cakes... do buy)! Just to give you a hint of the book, here is a tip - When you feel too lazy to stand beside a dripping tap, why not try the awesome pool that you have in your college! It serves both the purposes; you end up clean and you have fun too!
I finally visited the beach this semester and it was just as gorgeous as ever. The sunset always leaves me in an awww....

Amazing place to sit and watch the sun.

Its so awesome to have beach in the college!

'The month of' January
This is going to be something new that I plan to start ('The month of' series), so that I can laugh about all the stupid stuff that had passed by.
Firstly I started the month with a meagre amount of cash in my pocket, just Rs 400. Who on earth can survive in NITK for a month with just that much amount of money, when every alternate day one has to pay FC a visit. This was all thanks to the spending spree in the first three days of the 'new year'. The new year party and the release of Ghajini at the same time burnt a huge hole in my pocket. I had to drag on with 400 bucks for another 27 days, which meant no frequent darshans to amul or nescafe or nc. Well, but somehow I was able to survive the month, probably because I was assured a mess change the next month.
Then comes our prof., Udupa. Supposed to be our mechanical teacher but has proved to be more of a MLC teacher( he probably is even better than N N Das)! To begin with, he is the only teacher I have ever seen come running into the class, so much for being on time(though he never is). Then is his attendance routine where he loves replacing and leaving out syllables from a persons name, for instance Priyanka is Priyank in his class(that changes the gender itself) and Sabnis becomes Sabsin...whatever! Once he settles down and opens his book ( a teacher with a book!), I dont know what gets into him he starts narrating stories, which he calls his 'fundas', that even the KG kids wont accept for bed time stories. I plan to write a whole post about his 'fundas'. When he is done with his preaching he relaises that half the class is over, thus he starts teaching with his amazing over use of 'might you have seen'. And before he figures out what the guide says and tries explaing to us, the class is over.
We also had our mechanical test, and it was conveniently held in his period. Not only did he give a question in the paper that he hadn't taught us, he also started teaching us the idea behind that problem and gave us all the formulae that had to be used in it(and we sat there bulbing)!
Another person worth mentioning is our computer teacher, Reshma. A stark contrast to the 'funda' man, she takes her own sweet time to come to the class, and in her terms 'own sweet time' would be anything around 15 to 30 mins (thats all!). Where is she during the first half an hour of the class? FC... It looks like she visits the FC guy after (and before) every class! In class not one day has passed when she does not ask the last benchers to answer her seemingly 'tought' questions; and I dont know why but she shows special interest in people wearing the yellow shirt!
Do you like physics? No? Oh, you better do, cause it is the most 'exciting' stuff ever! The person I am referring to would be our physigc prof., GRU. Nobody can escape his hawk eye vision. It appears like he is completely engrossed in what he is doing and suddenly he catches some), and tells him..."...if this is not going to excite you, what will?...".
He surely doesnt realise that boys have a lot more things other than physics that excite them!
